Pysanky by So Jeo LeBlond

Pysanky or Ukrainian Easter Eggs are an ancient folk art from the Ukraine. They are created on real eggshells by alternating the application of hot beeswax applied with a stylus or writing pen called a kistka and dipping in dyes of progressively darker shades. The traditional symbols and colours each have different meanings. The last step is to remove the wax with a candle flame to reveal the beautiful design hidden beneath. All my Pysanky are sealed with an archival, crystal clear, UV resistant finish. Some of the shells I work with include chicken, duck, turkey, peafowl, goose, rhea, emu and ostrich. Please check out my current listings in my eBay and Etsy stores and also my Gallery of Designs to provide ideas for commission orders. In the last year I have sold my eggs all over the US and Canada and have become a member of the International Egg Art Guild (IEAG). Most recently I have had the honour of having my some of my eggs included in the book A Showcase of Decorated Eggs by Cheryl Hall.
